Summer Is Almost Over, But You Can Still Enjoy The Great Smoky Mountains

I haven’t been anywhere this summer, and was beginning to think I wouldn’t be able to until a friend of mine told me about Patriot Getaways. I had seen their advertisements on the internet before, but hadn’t considered checking them out until Jane told me how great they were. She said they were the most professional travel company that she had ever dealt with. I totally trust my BFF so I took her word for it, and was sure glad that I did!

I checked out the website and couldn’t believe how many vacation homes were available. With over 300 luxury cabins, chalets and condominiums to choose from, it was a tough call. My husband and I were planning to go away for three days, and it’s just the two of us, so we didn’t need anything too big, but we did want a pool table and an outdoor hot tub. If we could find a great deal on a luxury cabin that also had an indoor Jacuzzi, even better.

We had it narrowed down to two cabins. A Lovers Secret and Paradise View which were both in Gatlinburg. The Luxury Lovers Secret had everything we wanted, including the hot tub, and the indoor Jacuzzi, which was right next to a beautiful gas stone fireplace. It had a dartboard and an outdoor eating area, as well as an outdoor grill. Paradise View was just as nice, but it was missing an outdoor picnic table. We did love the view though and it had a porch swing. Both had lovely fully functional kitchens so we didn’t have to go anywhere. We finally settled on A Lovers Secret and were thrilled with our choice. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed.

I had no idea, but apparently, you can arrange to have special gift baskets delivered to your luxury cabin before you arrive, and that is exactly what my husband did. He arranged to have a romantic steak dinner for two waiting in the fridge. We fired up the outdoor grill, enjoyed a tossed salad with dressing, baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, four dinner rolls, and a pound cake with strawberries, and whipped cream. If that wasn’t enough, our table was set with placemats, napkins, two wine glasses, candles, and a floral centerpiece.

My husband and I just got home last night and can’t stop raving about our trip. We are already planning our next Smoky Mountain Getaway and have already booked Paradise View so we can watch the sunset this fall.
