WinterFest
The most imaginative aspect of winter in the Smokies is Winterfest, when millions of colored lights decorate the cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and
Gatlinburg. The lights are turned on early in November with special kick-off ceremonies in each town.
Some of the special events include Christmas Parades, Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival, Festival of Trees, Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival,
Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights, Outlet Shopping, Chili Cook-Off, Arts & Crafts Show, New Year's Eve Parties and Fireworks.
January has special events also, including Wilderness Wildlife Week with historical presentations of the Smokies and informative hikes.
February is Smoky Mountain Romance month in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge lets loose with the Storytelling Festival and its Saddle Up Celebration.
