Booking a cabin is a great way to save money on dining out during your vacation.  But, hauling those groceries from home several hours isn’t always the best option, especially with cold items.  Instead of packing boxes of food and coolers full of perishables, shop at one of our many local grocery stores!

Grocery stores near your Gatlinburg cabin:

Food City – 1219 East Parkway, Gatlinburg

Food City in Gatlinburg is the only full service grocery store, but is well worth the stop.  Complete with a small cafe for a quick bite to eat, a hot bar for ready made options, prepacked deli items like potato salad, and even a bakery on site, this small grocery store has a little bit of everything for everyone.  Family members with gluten sensitivity or special diets will also have specialty food items available at this store. Crunched for time, or just don’t want to deal with a trip to the store after a day of traveling? Food City offers online shopping via Instacart.

Open daily from 6am to 1am.  Bonus: Get a Food City ValuCard at the register.  Use your points for discounts on gas at their gas station located in the parking lot!

Whole Earth Grocery – 446 East Parkway #4, Gatlinburg

A fun and niche store you’ll want to see is Whole Earth Grocery.  This natural foods store, while small, carries a variety of natural and organic foods, supplements and vitamins, baby items, and more.  They even carry refrigerated items.

The cafe offers a small menu with vegan and vegetarian items as well.  Favorites on the menu include the lentil burger, pasta salad, and a juice bar with juice shots.  For the meat eaters, chicken salad is always popular

Whole Earth Grocery is open from 10am to 6pm, with cafe hours from 11am to 3pm.  Check them out on Facebook

Old Dad’s General Store – 1127 Parkway, Gatlinburg

Old Dad’s General Store has a small smattering of groceries and camping supplies for a trip to the Smokies, but the main reason it’s included on this list is for the deli.  With a delicious selection of sandwiches and breakfast items, you don’t want to miss Old Dad’s for a picnic lunch in the mountains. Order your lunch “picnic style” and their staff will put all the toppings and condiments in a separate bag for you.  No more soggy trail lunches!

Like something you had here? Old Dad’s sells their meats and cheeses by the pound as well!  Local favorites include a fried green tomato BLT and the country cuban. Their fresh breads will remind you of a New York style deli.  Don’t forget to try their homemade potato chips, too!

Old Dad’s is open 7am to 11pm, and their deli is open 7am to 5pm.  Want to grab a lunch sandwich in the morning to take on an afternoon hike? Call ahead and have it waiting when you arrive!  Find their menu online: https://olddadsgeneralstore.com/

Food City – 3625 Parkway, Pigeon Forge

Located right in the heart of Pigeon Forge is Food City.  This particular location is the closest grocery store to Dollywood and Splash Country, as well as Patriot Park.  Like the Food City in Gatlinburg, this full store has a wonderful selection of hot and cold items, ready-made picnic items, and is close to all the attractions in Pigeon Forge.  Swing by and grab a few snacks for a day on the town!

This particular location is open 6am to 12 midnight every day.

On the way in to town:

Walmart Supercenter – 1414 Parkway, Sevierville

Walmart SupercenterYes, there is a Walmart on your way in to town!  If you’re driving to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge via US-441, also known as The Parkway, you’ll pass right by Walmart in Sevierville at traffic light 13.4, across from Collier Drive.

This is a full Supercenter, complete with grocery, home goods, pharmacy, souvenir shop, and even an air brush kiosk.  Walmart has everything you need on vacation and is open 24 hours a day.
