The Black Bear Jamboree has closed its doors but don’t worry there’s a new family dinner show coming to town! The Hatfield-McCoy Dinner Feud and Stunt Show will be replacing the Black Bear Jamboree in April 2011. There’s soon to be food, feudin’, fightin’, family and most of all Fun in the hills as the Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group is set to open a brand new dinner feud and stunt show in the Smoky Mountains. Based on one of America’s most famous family feuds, the “Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud and Stunt Show” will open this spring in The Black Bear Jamboree Theater on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge between Wonderworks and The Titanic. The completely original new show will be produced by veteran producers and business partners David Fee and Jim Hedrick who have a long-running history of original productions in Pigeon Forge such as The Comedy Barn, The Smoky Mountain Opry and Magic Beyond Belief.
The new Hatfield and McCoy production is scheduled to open in early spring of this year, and will be loosely based on the true story of the Hatfield and McCoy feud. The audience will be divided into the Hatfield and McCoy families based on different seating areas. The audience will participate in the good natured rivalry and the show will extend throughout the theater to be a truly interactive experience. Comical and somewhat dangerous Hollywood style stunts will be performed throughout the show to add excitement. Singers, dancers, actors, and musicians will round out the interesting and colorful cast.
The building is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and transforming into the facade of two neighboring hillbilly style mountain homes complete with a decorative moonshine still and barnyard animal areas. The theater lobby will also feature the world’s largest moonshine still– soon to be verified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
