Thousand of Santas will be running down the parkway in Pigeon Forge Sunday.
The annual Santa Hustle starts at Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville on December 9 at 8 a.m.
The race is a holiday-themed half marathon and 5K road run. Participants receive Santa hats, beards, and custom Santa shirts.
Each year, thousands of people visit the area to run this race.
Keeping in the holiday theme, Christmas music plays along the course. Instead of traditional aid stations, cookies and candy are provided at the stops along the course.
An after-race party at Wilderness will feature milk and cookies. “Reindeer” (ponies dressed as reindeer) rides will be available for kids.
Runners and spectators are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy, which will be donated to Toys for Tots.
Pre-race packet pick up is Saturday at Wilderness at the Smokies.
Runners are encouraged to arrive early Sunday morning as the roads around the resort will begin to close at 7:30 a.m.
