New Smoky Mountain restaurant options are booming in the cities in Tennessee.
A new diner in Gatlinburg and one in Pigeon Forge; a cider company and a pizza and wine bar in Pigeon Forge; barbeque joints in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville; and pizza, coffee, lobster; and Peruvian restaurants in Sevierville have been added to the list of options.
In Sevierville, 13 miles north of Gatlinburg, at least 9 new restaurants have opened or are opening soon in this growing city of almost 19,000 people. Give them a try!
PIZZA
2509 Newport Hwy Suite 1
Piccolo’s is a pizza joint that offers specialty pies including a Smoky Mtn BBQ pizza with Moonshine BBQ Sauce, chicken, onions, and bacon topped with cheddar and an extra swirl of Moonshine BBQ Sauce to top it off.
The menu also offers calzones, wings, burgers, salads and a slew of appetizers.
Southern BBQ
1830 Winfield Dunn Parkway
A Knoxville favorite, Archer’s has a new location in Sevierville offering handcrafted barbecue and mouthwatering sides.
Archer Bagley, originally from Memphis, made his first foray into the BBQ business was in Atlanta, GA., “where he was one of the initial investors in Fox Brothers BBQ. He learned the ins and outs of the business, and after a few years, Archer struck out on his own. He sold his shares in Fox Brothers and moved to Knoxville to open the first Archers BBQ. Over the past decade, Archers has gone from one location to five in the Knoxville area. Archers is consistently voted Best BBQ in Knoxville in the knoxnews.com BEST OF competition and is listed as 1 of the 25 best BBQ joints in Tennessee by bigseventravel.com.”
Enjoy barbecue sandwiches; rib plates; pork, chicken and 3-meat plates. Dig into a “BBQ Sundae,” a pimento cheese sandwich or barbecue nachos. Brisket is available on Fridays and Saturdays. Sides include Barron’s bbq beans, cole slaw, collard greens, stewed green beans, loaded potato salad, sweet potato chips, smokehouse mac-n-cheese, jalapeño pimento cheese and smoked chicken salad.

Dutch Bros Coffee has opened a new location in Sevierville. The company started in 1992 in Grants Pass, Oregon and now has more than 700 stores open nationwide.
1503 Parkway
Collier Family Restaurants is bringing a new Italian restaurant to Sevierville fall 2023. No other details are on the website. The Collier group owns Smoky Mountain Pancake House, Corky’s, Flapjacks, Smoky’s Pancake Cabin, Quaker Steak & Lube, The Melting Pot, Old Chicago Pizza & Tap Room – all in the Smokies.
Seafood Favorites

Pinchy’s Lobster & Beer Garden – a lobster and raw bar – opened in downtown Sevierville in fall of 2022. They offer New England-style seafood and southern hospitality. Fish sandwiches, lobster grilled cheese, Maine lobster rolls and shareable feasts are among the fresh options. Seafood towers, She-crab bisque and New England Clam chowder are appetizing creations. Try a sushi roll or a rainbow trout dinner. There are so many interesting choices!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the beer garden, where outdoor seating and heated fire pits are available year-round. You’ll find live music at Pinchy’s every weekend.
Grilled Food

If your search continues, you’ll be glad to know that the restaurant options do too! This new Sevierville BBQ restaurant is a 1970s themed, family-oriented sports bar specializing in BBQ, burgers and wings. The menu is filled with groovy names such as psychedelic sliced brisket, peace potato casserole and cosmic onion rings. There’s a Righteous BBQ Burger and a Slammin’ Chicken Sammie.
With a full bar, flashback decorations and video games, The Hippie BBQ & Grill I sure to entertain and fill your belly.

The Neighborhood Beer House is a family-friendly, dog-friendly, neighborhood beer garden providing local craft beer, food, and fun. With 50 beers on tap, you’ll find something to enjoy. Try a beer flight to sample a few beers or grab a growler of your favorite to go.
The food menu is a treat too! Jumbo pretzels and build your own nachos with barbecue meat options are appetizer options. There are smoked bratwurst options, flat bread pizzas and sandwiches including a grilled chicken Philly and BBQ beef sliders.
Pay a membership fee at The Neighborhood Beer House and on neighborhood night, you’ll enjoy specific discounts and specials.
In Pigeon Forge

The Corner Diner calls itself “A Classic American Diner,” though a more petite menu compared with those in the Northeast. The diner serves breakfast all day, burgers, sandwiches and more.
Pancake options include buttermilk, banana pudding and “razzle my berries.” There are omelets and something called Beatnik Bowls with savory and sweet options. Think of it as everything you want for breakfast mixed in a bowl – yum! There are French toast and waffle varieties as well.
Smash burgers get their own section on the menu with breakfast for dinner and a pizza saucer among the choices. There’s a breakfast dog and several sandwiches. There’s chili, of course! And some soups and sandwiches, along with pastries and coffees.
Tex Mex
Azul Cantina is now open! Calling itself “Pigeon Forge’s first high-end Mexican cantina and grill,” Azul has a rooftop bar and cantina offering Tex-Mex creations.
“Using wood-fire grilling methods in traditional Mexican cooking styles with roots from South America to Texas, our recipes are made from scratch with authentic ingredients and pair well with our homemade cerveza-style lager and handcrafted cocktails featuring top-shelf tequilas and our own Agave distilled spirits.”
This restaurant option includes Chicken flautas, tuna tostada, Elotes ribs and Macha wings along with many other appetizers. Classics include burritos, arroz con pollo and mini chicken changa. There are specialty tacos and fajitas. House specials include tortilla crusted cod and an ancho dry rub sirloin.
The craft cocktails have unique names including rhinestone cowboy, playa azul and LocoMelon.
Wine & Pizza

Pizza Rio offers a Brazilian style of serving, which is continuous service with with fresh ingredients, hand crafted cocktails, and a signature wine list.
Whether you want brunch or dinner, you’ll get a five-course continuous Brazilian experience. For dinner, a pre-set menu includes: seasonal soup, mixed greens dressed with lemon honey vinaigrette and topped with sundried tomatoes; house-made pork/beef meatballs; Brazilian crispy chicken wings and choice of handcrafted pizzas and dessert pizzas.
Social hour is 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
